Hi,

I'm running Vista MCE on a HD enabled TV (1280x768) through the vga socket.  The menus look fantastic and clear.  The TV card fitted is a PVR250 and controls SKY TV.  It gets its picture from a composite input.

When watching TV through MCE the picture is fuzzy.  I've tried the registry hacks associated with hauppage cards but not much improvement.  I've tried s-vhs from sky but get a black and white picture and i'd need a sky+ box which does support s-vhs out.

I know the pvr 259 only captures at a certain (lower) resolution - My question is what card can i get to work with a sky box (most of the programmes I like are on pay channels) that can encode at a higher near hd if not hd resolution.

Your input on this is most welcome.

Thanks.

Hey three questions answered with the same answer :-)

Head on over to http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/143671.aspx for news on how to get SKY including encrypted channels in Media Center.

Its also worth noting that the supplier mentioned in this post also has a solution for TopUp-TV on UK Digital Terrestrial

Head on over to http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319927 where there is a very comprehensive discussion initiated by me nearly a year ago about using Technotrend, FireDTV & other DVB-S solutions with a Sky subscription card to receive the best picture quality within MCE with both Free To Air & encrypted channels.
